John is
the founder and president of Shooting Star. Since opening in 2009, Shooting Star has designed,
built, and sold all its developer real estate and has a full membership with a
growing waiting list to join the Club.
From
1995 to 2003, John was president of Granite Ridge which developed homes slope
side to the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort. In 1991, he founded JH Ski Management
and engineered a four-party transaction that ended five years of litigation and
brought new ownership to the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort. From 1992 to 1995,
he served as president of the Resort.
From 2015
through 2020, John was the top producing broker in Teton County, leading all
brokers in annual sales volume. He was also the leading broker in Teton County
in 2001 and again in 2007, when he was named one of the top 20 real estate
sales professionals in the country by Real Trends and the Wall
Street Journal. In 2020, Shooting Star’s sales team was ranked 10th
in the country by Real Trends and the Journal. In addition to
Shooting Star, John’s team also represents buyers and sellers of resort and
ranch properties.
John
received a B.A. from Williams College, a J.D. from Case Western Reserve Law
School, where he was editor and chief of the law review, and an M.B.A. from the
Yale School of Management. He has served on several boards, including St.
John's Hospital and the Teton County School District. During his tenures, he
helped oversee the financing and construction of St. John's Hospital and
Nursing Home, St. John's Professional Office Building, the Wilson Elementary School,
and the Jackson Hole High School. John and his wife, Kitty, currently sit on
the board of City Kids Wilderness Project.
